Continuing Education Contact Hours

Earn 2.0 DONA International continuing education contact hours, applicable toward recertification, for attendance at this workshop.


Workshop Objectives:

  • Describe theories explaining the physiological mechanisms of pain relief with TENS

  • Discuss research findings on pain relief, safety, and satisfaction with TENS during      labor

  • Demonstrate the proper application of TENS

  • List the parts of a TENS unit

  • Describe the physical sensations caused by TENS

  • Discuss precautions and reasons for these precautions with the use of TENS

  • Discuss a step-by-step protocol for the implementation of TENS by the doula

  • Describe the requirements for DONA International approval to use TENS


Investment:

  • $160 for 2.0 DONA contact hours PLUS an Elle TENS unit and four electrode packs

    • Order additional electrode packs in units of five.

  • Registration is limited to a small group class

  • TENS units are limited, so register early!

  • Workshop-attendance only spots, without the purchase of a TENS unit, offering 2.0 DONA contact hours are limited and contingent upon available space in the workshop setting and/or once TENS units are sold out. Inquire about availability prior to registering.

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellation less than one (1) week in advance incurs a $5 fee cancellation fee, but a registration can be transferred to a substitute attendee up to one (1) day in advance without penalty. Refund of electronic payments will also include a deduction of the Stripe or PayPal transaction fee.
